Scholarships are awarded through the ASEAN scholarship program of the school year 2012. New Zealand Ambassador to Indonesia David Taylor stated, this is a great opportunity for outstanding students to contribute something to the development of Indonesia in the future.
"Studying in New Zealand opened a new and exciting prospects, and generate the skills and qualifications necessary to provide long-lasting contribution in the development of economic, social, and political in the country of origin of the students," Taylor said as quoted from his written statement on Wednesday ( 30/03/2011).
Taylor explained that New Zealand has a world-class educational facilities, with educational qualifications recognized internationally, as well as environmentally friendly and unique.
Quota of 50 scholarships from the New Zealand government to increase from the previous number of only 15 scholarships in 2010. Taylor explained, adding that reflect New Zealand's efforts to strengthen ties with Indonesia and ASEAN as a whole.
Juli lalu, pemerintah Selandia Baru melalui Menteri Luar Negeri Murray McCully mengumumkan tambahan 100 beasiswa bagi mitra lamanya, negara-negara ASEAN. Dengan penambahan tersebut, ASEAN akan menerima 170 beasiswa.   
The recipients of New Zealand Scholarship - ASEAN will get
go and return tickets (PP) to their country, full tuition, relocation allowance when he arrived in New Zealand, and living allowances to finance daily expenses.
