Between Coursework and Research

For you are ever struggling with educational information graduate to an exact science, the term must have denger Coursework programs and Research program. Yes, this term is commonly used to determine A typical process of graduate education, generally Master Degree. Then, what is Coursework and Research is the difference? Mr. Eka Firmansyah, one lecturer Electrical Engineering UGM who never took the master's program at Nanyang Technological Univesity (NTU), Singapore and is currently taking doctoral program at Kyushu University, Japan from his experience, "Coursework is for you who are hobby classes. by Coursework

guaranteed one year is finished and dapet master. But do not ever imagine kayaking study in Indonesia. At NTU one semester only three courses. but the burden quite heavy. In the second semester, you must create a thesis and research. if Coursework taken, no need to look for a supervisor. Later resolved by the university.
If successfully passed, you must be a great person and diligent and smart  time management. Another Research program. This is often dibecandain as  Doctoral programs are not so because this is almost the same as the Research Doctoral programs. The time is at least 2 years. We conduct independent research under the guidance of Supervisor (supervisor). After completion of 2 years, we write a thesis. Well for this research, because research independently, it should be the preferred theme. If not ya do not over-done. With independent research advantages is that you've trained for college doctoral program later. Because that's what distinguishes Research program with the program It is a doctoral exam. For doctoral programs, you must pass exam closed and Defence exam (exam is open in the presence of several experts and professors), whereas for the test program Master by Research only need to test closed course ".
Huff's ... .. imagine the difference? Anyway, the explanation is not an explanation that is absolutely the same in other countries and universities. each universities and state standards and the educational system different. Of all the explanations above, the most important thing to you to do is: to understand correctly the education system prevailing in universities and the country will you go! Dig up information and opinions from various parties, not least from a friend or brother who never was educated there. By understanding the existing education system, you'll be better prepared to continue your studies abroad.

Note!
Some scholarship providers do not receive a 'springboard' educational level of Bachelor Degree to a Doctoral Degree, although some universities, like NTU, allowing Direct you to take the Doctoral Degree program. Be careful with this. Understand the true rule of universities and scholarships you, if I have to ask directly to them whether they allow you to follow Direct Doctoral Degree programs at the university that you want.

Overseas Education System

"How so, the education system overseas? Much different, do not you? Lest we should ngulang learn more S1, S2 before moving ahead? "
That question tetep unfounded and need to say. some Quote countries have an education system that is slightly different from Indonesia. European countries, such as the Netherlands, generally have a standard of education primary and secondary 14-15 years. The Netherlands has a basic education curriculum 8 years, followed by about 5-6 years of secondary education. While Indonesia has the basic education curriculum kindergarten 1-2 years SD 6 years plus. After that, followed by junior and senior high schools, each for 3 years. Total time taken student academic Indonesia Tahun6 13-14. Higher education in the Netherlands are also divided into two, namely university and university of professional education. What's the difference? University generally train students to use their knowledge independently, while the university of professional education, or better known by the term Hogeschool more oriented to practice. If a student after high school Indonesia wanted to go to a university in the Netherlands, he must take bridging (equalization) for 1 year before being accepted as students Bachelor Degree (S1) at the university. But this does not apply if the student has signed up to the Hogeschool. He can direct nggunain high school diploma to register for college without going through the process bridging. Different Dutch, also different
Japan. Japan has a system of primary and secondary education are almost together with Indonesia. Japan followed the pattern of 6-3-3-4 which is six years primary education, 3 years of junior secondary education, 3 years of education upper secondary and higher education for four years, unless the field medicine, veterinary medicine and dentistry.

For graduate education, each state also has regulations different. Diplome term which is equivalent to Master Degree (S2), known in Netherlands, France, Germany and several other countries. A student bachelor aja attend graduate school for a degree Doctoral degree by first taking Diplome for 1-2 years. You need to know, most of the countries of destination of higher education the world's education systems are generally implemented Bachelor-Masters-Doctoral. Bachelor's Degree is generally reached within 4-6 years, Masters Degree taken within 2-3 years and Doctoral Degree at least 4 years.

Why Study Abroad?

"Study abroad? I want to ... ..! "
Yup, that's probably a spontaneous sentence we say when we are going offered the opportunity to study abroad. Although many acknowledge that education at home and abroad have their respective advantages,
but until the past decade, the current Indonesian students studying abroad is increasing. Tens of thousands of college students Indonesia vying to study in another country. In many cities large in Indonesia, the exhibition highlights overseas education with not less computer and technology exhibition. Advances in information technology and communications seems to be one factor driving the increasing number of students internationally in the last three decades. Windy Ariestanty and Maurin Andri states that, "In the 21st century, according to Newsweek magazine website, during the last three decades there were approximately three-fold increase. figure international students reached 800,000 in the 70's decade. In the early 21st century, that figure has been shifted to 2.5 million "1.

Many reasons have attributed to the educational needs of overseas wide range of needs of the workforce, expansion of network, experience and insight into the interaction with the various nations, even to the mere prestige sheer! Consciously or not, the era of globalization demands the quality of human resources higher. Denok Sri Sukartinah, Manager of The University of Melbourne Indonesia Office, said, "In this era of globalization, companies requires people who are more able to compete and have more insight wide. This could be realized one of them through higher education, namely graduate. There is a possibility also for postgraduate title holders, will have a higher bargaining power in world competition work. The need for improving the quality of human resources is also in line with the intense competition at the global level. The concept of free trade that proclaimed the UN requires a country to be ready to accept power foreign labor and sending domestic workers to other countries. It is not may be done if the workforce is not trained to interact with various cultures, mindset and work environment. one of methods used are educated in other countries to directly feel the pattern of interaction with the international community.

In addition, another reason that became the basis for study abroad is the academic atmosphere of a comfortable and conducive. Besides supported by knowledge of those skilled in the art, study abroad allows a student to engage in a learning system that comprehensive, supported by good facilities and infrastructure. The reason this instead of making it up. At the University of Melbourne, Australia, faculty university is a research fellow Nobel Prize recipient in the field of immunology, Prof. Peter Doherty. At the University of Tokyo (Tokyo Daigaku), Prof. Masatoshi Koshiba is a Nobel Prize recipient in the field of molecular physics are also honor a faculty member there. Educational facilities and infrastructure better also be a major supporter of the learning method, as conducted by Singapore which is supported by three state universities and five world-class polytechnic. Singapore Polytechnic (Singapore Polytechnic / SP) which became the first and oldest polytechnic in Singapore is always an update technology to meet the standards of international education and graduate quality. Since its founding in 1954, Singapore Polytechnic has produced 130,000 alumni spread across many countries and become leaders in various sectors of industry, executives in companies, entrepreneurs, and still much more. In short, study abroad going to be an option promising alternative in order to improve the quality of life and progress of the nation. Not not possibly know, one day our country became one of the country an international provider of quality education. However, the The most important of it all is learned in the land should be means, not an end goal. Motivation and intention to learn would be very nentuin successful at least our study there and finally .... will determine our future.
"So, guys. Just prepare your selves. A lot of chances are you waiting ... .."
